Simon Cowell attacks 'weirdo' Martin Gore of Depeche Mode

Simon Cowell has criticised Martin Gore after the Depeche Mode guitarist claimed he wanted to "shoot" him.
Writing on Twitter earlier this morning (November 26), Cowell posted two tweets addressing Gore's comments that the pop mogul should be "shot".

In an interview last week, Gore admitted that he hates reality TV shows, especially the ITV 1 series, which is currently fronted by Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Nicole Scherzinger. Responding to what Gore said, Cowell claimed that such comments encourage real-life shootings, the kind of which have claimed the lives of many Americans this year.

He wrote: "I read Martin Gore wants to shoot me. He was is in Depeche Mode. Do you realise how weird and stupid that makes you. Go and watch the news."

He then added: "Why I am angry about weirdo Gore is a ton of people have got shot this year and people like weirdo Gore encourage this."

Depeche Mode are currently working on a new album which is due for release next year. They will also play two dates at London's O2 Arena next May.

Musician Martin Gore and actress Kerrilee Kaski during volunteer drive on Thanksgiving Day at Direct Relief International (DRI) headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, to prepare supplies for victims of Super Storm Sandy. 

DRI provides medical assistance to improve the quality of life for people affected by poverty, disaster, and civil unrest at home and around the world. Since 2000, each dollar spent has provided up to $30 (wholesale) of medical material aid specifically requested by in-country health professionals to care for patients.

I was just surfing the net for news on the Mode single not expecting anything current and found a line of info Ive pasted below claiming the new DM single 2012 is released on December 7th. I cant get onto the actual website it came from as it just says "error 404 found" but its getting me wondering. I have no idea what relevance Michael Jackson has to it all but hey...

Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode): 'Alan was vital to the sound of Depeche Mode'

The Slovakian website TopStar has a rather interesting video up on their pages. The magazine was one of the few others that managed having a tête-à-tête with the band and during the interview, the journalist also got Dave Gahan to talk about Alan Wilder.

Here is the transcript of what is being said in the video: "We kinda moved on from each other, Alan does his own thing. In retrospect he could have done both and stayed in the band, but he just wanted to leave and do his own thing. When Alan was in the band, what he brought to the band and what he gave musically was immense knowledge and helped us as a band to grow musically and discover new ways of making music, structuring music, layering and landscaping music. Alan was vital to the sound of Depeche Mode right up to the moment he left. The two biggest albums that we released in sales are Violator and SOFAD. You can hear Alan's influence. Can you repeat that now? Who knows, the past is the past you can't recreate it."

Depeche Mode signs with WME for North/South America tour

Deadline.com just reported that Depeche Mode signed a deal with WME, after having been with CAA for years. They will represent the band for their tour in North and South America. So now we can be sure that DM won’t just be playing North America, but South America as well, which must be quite a good thing to know for the South American fans!

Depeche Mode sign with Sony Music

"Ainda não é oficial, mas nós tivemos a confirmação de várias fontes que o Depeche Mode assinou um contrato com a gravadora Sony Music."...Side Line.

This is not official yet, but we have gotten confirmation from various sources that Depeche Mode has signed a record deal with Sony Music. Sony Music Entertainment is the second largest music corporation in the world and is owned and controlled by Sony Corporation of America, the United States subsidiary of Japan's Sony Corporation.

Note that EMI Music, who had signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Depeche Mode for its 2009 album "Sounds of the Universe", didn't want to renew the deal for the band's new album expected for 2013. We were told the sales figures were not what EMI had expected them to be.

We hope that the official press release on this record deal will bring some more details especially as to what will be the role of Mute chairman Daniel Miller in this new Depeche Mode chapter.
